REVIEWS.io is exploring ways to bring the social proof shoppers trust online into your physical stores. The idea is that product reviews, ratings and photos can appear in store through digital shelf labels, in-store screens and receipt QR codes. Shoppers get the same confidence they would get browsing your website, right at the point of purchase.
Shopify POS is a core part of what we're looking at. The vision is for reviews to connect to your Shopify POS checkout terminal, so you could invite customers to leave a review at the moment of purchase. Your in-store and online customer feedback would then sit in one place.
A QR code on a printed receipt, or a review link in an email receipt, could let customers leave a review while the purchase is fresh in their mind. Today most in-store customers are never asked for feedback, so this could help retailers collect more reviews from in-store shoppers.
Digital shelf labels are electronic price tags that could also show live star ratings and review snippets next to the product. This would let shoppers see what other customers think without leaving the aisle. The same social proof that helps lift online conversion could help shoppers choose with more confidence in store.
That is one of the possibilities we're exploring. A shopper could pick up an item and scan its RFID tag at a nearby screen to see that product's reviews, ratings and customer photos. It is designed to give shoppers online-style research in store, without needing to check their phone.
The magic mirror is a concept for an AI-powered fitting room experience. A shopper could virtually try on an item and see reviews and social proof from customers who bought it, all in one place. It is still an idea we're developing. It reflects where we think retail experiences could go next.
